Thank you for visiting the Rhode Tour Teaching Page!

Currently, there are three tours that are directly aligned with the Rhode Island Grade Span Expectations (GSEs) for Social Studies: "The Dorr Rebellion," "Industrial Heritage Along the Woonasquatucket," and "First Peoples of Rhode Island." The GSEs for Social Studies are approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education and are broken down into four categories: Civics and Govnerment, Historical Perspectives, Geography, and Economics.

To encourage the use of Rhode Tour in the classroom, we've developed individual documents that detail the curriculum alignment components of "The Dorr Rebellion," "Industrial Heritage Along the Woonasquatucket," and "First Peoples of Rhode Island" for high school students. The documents do not detail how each pin aligns with the GSEs, rather, they cover the general content knowledge students gain by engaging with the entirety of each tour. 

As we continue to develop Rhode Tour, we're excited by the prospect of continuing to improve how the application and website can be used in the classroom. We look forward to expanding curriculum alignements for extant and future content. Stay tuned!
