This 1977 photo shows the Watchman Industrial School as it looked around the time that Rev. William Holland's wife, Viola, finally sold the property for development. For nearly twenty years after Rev. Holland's death she had continued to run a summer camp at the old school, but funds for maintaining the buildings were scarce. Originally, the two story "hypens" connected the two dormitory wings to the main building. At the far left of the photo, the foundation of the north wing is visible; it was demolished after being significantly damged by arson in the 1930s.
